Briefly describe the history of the museum, its collection and donors.
The ancient church in which the Synod of Diamper was held in 1599 is preserved now as the Synod Museum. It was designed by Rev. Dr George Koilparampil in 2004.
The roof of the museum is adorned with ancient carvings on teak wood. Other attractions in the Synod Museum are visual models of the Synod of Diamper, the Coonan Cross Oath and a scene from a Syrian Christian baptism. Pieces of granite stones with ancient inscriptions on are preserved on the walls of the church. The ancient granite cross in the church compound is an artistic piece of archaeological importance and is a sight that shouldn’t be missed.

          Interesting things about the Museum
Golden Chalice used during the Synod of Diamper is preserved here and it is a major attraction. The ancient construction of the church and carvings on wood are remarkable. The space has plenty of opportunity and material for researchers from social science and humanities disciplines.
Most uninteresting aspect of the museum
The museum has focussed on faith, hence the historicity and antiquity is not preserved at its best.
