The Manav Vikas Sangrahalaya is located in Jhunsi, Allahabad. Housed in the campus of GB Pant Social Science Institute, the museum highlights the folk cultures, local traditions and heritage of different communities in India. Dioramas, replicas and other visuals show how people of various regions have passed through different phases of culture and change.
Currently, there are four galleries in the museum. The 'Manav Vikas ki Katha' gallery highlights the socio-economic development of human civilisation, particularly in North India. The 'Ganga River Culture' gallery represents the cultural continuity and changes along the Ganga River belt through large paintings, photographs, artefacts and models. There is also a gallery dedicated to Govind Ballabh Pant.
Join us for this walk and engage your curious minds in a treasure hunt across two of the museum's galleries, celebrating International Museum Day 2019, and its theme - 'Museums as Cultural hubs: the Future of Tradition'.
