The Ever Living Museum at Mawshbuit is located about 9 km from the city of Shillong. It is owned and operated by a retired Meghalaya government engineer, Mr Kyntiewbor War. The museum has three components—the main museum, a stone museum, and a garden of wild
orchids, wildflowers and wild fruits. The main Museum houses displays of miniature tree huts of the Garos, bamboo huts of the Khasi tribe, traditional dresses and ornaments of the different tribes of Meghalaya, household items, craft items, and old Indian and foreign currencies and coins collected by Mr Kyntiewbor War.
The other room houses different kinds of stones collected from in and around Meghalaya as well as Italy and other places. A collection of shells, gemstones and fossils are also housed in the museum. The museum garden boasts of a variety of wild orchids and fruit trees indigenous to Meghalaya.
This guided tour is specially curated for children from Reach Shillong Ministries and is not open to the general public.
