The Prof. Rajnath Memorial Museum is named after the founder of the Geology Department of Banaras Hindu University. It is one of the oldest departments of the university, established on January 22, 1923. The museum offers an outstanding collection of rocks, minerals, and fossils collected from different areas in India and abroad. The museum exhibits a wide range of precious gems, models showcasing the evolution of human and animals, geological maps, atomic structures, vertebral and non-vertebral fossils, different landforms and tectonic plate models. The museum offers a wide understanding of the physical and historical features of the earth and the stages of processes acting on them. The most attractive part of this museum is the crystals like apophyllite, crystalline quartz, rose quartz, etc. and the atomic structure models.
