Ancient Indian History Culture (AIHC) and Archaeology Department Museum is situated in Banaras Hindu University.
This Museum was established in 1968 on the ground floor in the form of a gallery. It was shifted in a hall on the first floor in 2016 in order to collect and maintain it at one place. It includes the collection of wall maps, coins, old bricks from the Kushan and Gupta period, 3D models of temples like Kandariya Mahadev (Khajuraho) and Shore Temple (Mahabalipuram). It also showcases Pottery from the Chalcolithic period, iron objects like arrowheads, spearheads, nails, sword (400BC-300BC) and others like copper and terracotta objects. It is a department museum which is well maintained and opened for students and others. This department of Ancient Indian History Culture (AIHC) and Archaeology was started in the 1950s.
