“You have to stay true to your heritage, that's what your brand is about.” – Alice Temperley

The modern city of Patna is situated on the southern bank of the river Ganges. It was founded in 490 BCE by the king of Magadha. Ancient Patna, known as Pataliputra, was the capital of the Magadha Empire under the Haryanka, Nanda, Mauryan, Shunga, Gupta, and Pala empires. Pataliputra was a renowned seat of learning and the fine arts and was home to many astrologers and scholars.

Gandhi holds a special significance in every Bihari’s mind mainly due to the role he played in Bihar during the independence struggle. Thus, the history of the Gandhi Museum, the site of which was handed over by the Bihar government back in 1967, is significant.

The popular Gandhi Maidan also needs no introduction as big rallies and important meetings in Patna are hosted in these very grounds. Did you know that it was used as a golf course during the colonial era? Join us to discover many such stories and uncover Patna’s history.

In this walk, we shall visit Gol Ghar, Gandhi Maidan, and Gandhi Museum.
