Established in 1994, Regional Science Centre is a unit of the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Government Of India. The museum is the first of its kind in the North-East. The centre aims at popularising science and technology amongst the masses, particularly the student community, and at cultivating scientific awareness in the society. The centre also has a planetarium, several exhibitions and galleries, and conducts outdoor expositions and various other interactive programmes.
