NIMHANS Heritage Museum celebrates the institute’s national importance and 160 years of history. Divided into 7 zones, the interactive museum chronologically takes visitors through the development of the initial Lunatic Asylum in 1850 to the contemporary NIMHANS. It also captures stories of Mysore Government Mental Hospital, the architects of All India Institute of Mental Health (now NIMHANS), important dignitaries, and Nobel Laureates of NIMHANS campus, giving glimpses of patient demographics, innovations, and contributions of NIMHANS and the range of activities that are carried out here.
